$1,000 Scholarship for IUS, Ivy Tech Community College, and Purdue Polytechnic:
Clark County REMC is committed to helping college-bound students in our region. Each year, REMC offers twenty $1,000 scholarships to Indiana University Southeast, Ivy Tech Community College of Sellersburg and Purdue Polytechnic New Albany. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity for your student!
Information for the 2021 Scholarships are listed below for each school. The deadline to apply for all scholarships is March 5, 2021.
The Cindy Hockensmith Memorial Scholarship:
In 2019, Clark County REMC created The Cindy Hockensmith Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 that will be awarded to one high school senior annually. The recipient of this scholarship must attend as a full-time student to any Indiana college or university. For more information on this scholarship please see below.
2021 Scholarship Information
- Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark County REMC member and receives electric service from the co-op. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to IU Southeast for the fall 2021 semester.
- Applicant must attend IU Southeast as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Scholarship is open to the immediate family of any Clark County REMC employee or director who is a Clark County REMC member.
- A one-page typed written essay is required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant. Applicant must have a One.IU account.

- Applicant must be a member of Clark County REMC at the time the scholarship is awarded, or
- Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark County REMC member and receives electric service. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicant must be admitted to Ivy Tech Community College for the fall 2021 semester/quarter.
- Scholarship is also open to the immediate family of any Clark County REMC employee or director who is a Clark County REMC member.
- A one-page typewritten essay is required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant.
- Students are advised to check with the scholarship office for more information concerning the Clark County REMC scholarship offer.
- Applicants may only receive this scholarship one time during their enrollment at Ivy Tech Community College.
- Applicant must attend Ivy Tech Community College as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark
- County REMC member and receives electric service from the co-op. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to Purdue Polytechnic for the fall 2020 semester.
- Applicant must attend Purdue Polytechnic as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Scholarship is open to the immediate family of any Clark County REMC employee or director who is a Clark County REMC member.
- A one-page typewritten essay is required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant.
- Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark
- County REMC member and receives electric service from the co-op. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to an Indiana college or university for the upcoming fall semester/quarter. .
- Applicant must attend as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Special consideration will be given to an applicant attending school to study veterinary science or other animal-related field in recognition of Cindy's love of animals.
