REMC expands 2010 scholarship program
With student loans almost impossible to come by these days, the REMC wants to help college bound students in our region. This year the REMC has increased the program to include ten $500 scholarships each to Indiana University Southeast and Ivy Tech and five $500 scholarships to the Purdue University College of Technology in New Albany. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity for your student! The deadline for applications is March 12. Here are the qualifications:

Ivy Tech Community College Scholarship
Clark County REMC will award ten scholarships at $500 each.

Qualifications:
• Applicant must be a member of Clark County REMC at the time the scholarship is awarded; or
• Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark County REMC member and receives electric service from the REMC. The membership application must be in the name of a parent or legal guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
• Applicant must be admitted to Ivy Tech Southern Indiana for the fall semester.
• Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Scholarship is also open to the immediate family of any REMC employee or director that is a REMC member.
• A one page typewritten essay will be required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant.

Ivy Tech Community College Scholarship Application


Indiana University Southeast Scholarship
Clark County REMC will award ten scholarships at $500 each.

• Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark County REMC member and receives electric service from the co-op. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
• Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to IUS for the fall 2010 semester.
• Applicant must attend IUS as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
• Scholarship is open to the immediate family of any REMC employee or director who is a REMC member.
• A one–page typewritten essay is required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant.

Purdue University College of Technology Scholarship
Clark County REMC will award five scholarships at $500 each.

• Applicant must reside in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a Clark County REMC member and receives electric service from the co-op. The membership application must be in the name of the parent or guardian at the time the scholarship is awarded.
• Applicant must be a high school senior who has been admitted to Purdue College of Technology for the fall 2010 semester.
• Applicant must attend Purdue College of Technology as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
• Scholarship is open to the immediate family of any REMC employee or director who is a REMC member.
• A one–page typewritten essay is required in order to gain a greater insight of the applicant.
