One Call Install Electric Water Heaters

One Call Install Programmable Thermostat

REMC members look to us to provide the most accurate and useful energy information as is available. To us, it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

Whether your personal goal is to go green, reduce your carbon footprint, become energy independent, increase the efficiency of your household or just control the energy costs in your own home, we all want to make certain we’re working as “smart” as we can to meet that goal.

Clark County REMC has had a long history of supporting members with rebate programs to offset purchase or installation costs of water heating and/or heating and cooling equipment. We’ve been able to do this, in part, with support of our generating and transmission cooperative, Hoosier Energy. It’s been important to maintain the electric load of our system and to do so in a responsible manner that benefits the REMC member.

The incentives being offered in 2010 were designed to promote energy efficiency as recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy through the Energy Star program.

Water heater program
The 2010 Water Heater Program applies to any new, electric water heater (i.e. new home, gas replacement, electric replacement). The REMC offers equipment rebates for electric water heaters and heating and cooling equipment. Being energy efficient has never been more important. The rebates offered by the REMC encourage and reward purchasing equipment that meets specific energy standards. Being efficient and reducing our demand and consumption of energy can be met through many technological advancements. From changing light bulbs to CFLs, purchasing Energy Star compliant appliances and replacing old inefficient heating and cooling equipment with high efficiency units can all make a big change in our nation’s energy consumption. All rebates are applied as a credit on your REMC electric bill.

In addition to the rebates offered by the REMC, the State of Indiana has just announced an Energy Star Appliance Rebate Program. This is for purchase of Energy Star rated HVAC systems purchased and installed after Feb. 1, 2010. More information can be found at www.in.gov/oed. Rebate amounts from the state are up to $500 for documented purchase and installation of conventional HVAC systems and up to $1,000 for geothermal heat pump. The program will end when funds run out.

All electric replacements are required to have a timer installed in order to receive the rebate. All water heaters are purchased through Clark County REMC.

** Dual Fuel – Add a heat pump with a SEER rating of 14.0 or higher to an existing fossil fuel system. The heat pump will heat and cool your home down to a temperature of 25 degrees F. Below 25 degrees F., the fossil fuel furnace takes over.
