Green Power
Power Cost Adjustment
The power cost adjustment is printed on your monthly bill. The PCA for August is $.017800 per kwh or $17.80 per 1,000 kwhs.
The PCA represents additional costs from Hoosier Energy not covered in our base rates. The amount will change monthly.
The PCA reflects the market and current conditions on a month to month basis.
The additional costs from Hoosier Energy are the result of:
• Higher fuel costs with increases in natural gas, coal and fuels associated with generation;
• Rising demand requiring new generation;
• An aging grid requiring upkeep of old generation;
• Compliance with costly government regulations.

Environmentally friendly GREEN POWER is now available from Clark County REMC through a program called Enviro-Watts. Enviro-Watts is our name for energy generated from renewable, environmentally preferred sources.
When you participate in this voluntary program, we’ll purchase the energy to meet your needs from an environmentally renewable resource methane gas from landfills. The Clark-Floyd landfill methane gas project is on target to begin producing clean renewable energy this fall. Methane from the landfill near Borden will fuel two 1,059 kilowatt generators that will feed power into our distribution system. This is the first landfill methane generation project for Hoosier Energy and for Clark County REMC.
